202 – Abu ʿAli al-Marwazi narrated to me; he said: ʿAbdan ibn ʿUthman informed us; he said: ʿAbd Allah informed us; he said: Ibrahim ibn Nashit informed us; he said: A man related to me: He said, “Some men visited ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Harith ibn Jazʾ al-Zubaydi—one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)—and we heard him say:
‘Blessed is the servant who ends his day holding the forelock of his horse in the cause of Allah, breaking his fast on a crust of bread and cool water. Woe to the loungers—those who mill about like cattle, shouting, “Raise it, boy! Put it down, boy!”—for in all of that they fail to remember Allah.’”
