The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, “Do you have food?” He replied, “Yes.” He said, “Then you cook it, finish cooking it, season it, and add condiments to it?” He answered, “Yes.” The Prophet asked, “Do you have drink?” He replied, “Yes.” ⦗110⦘ He said, “And you brew it, cool it, and clarify it?” He answered, “Yes.” The Prophet then asked, “And you combine them both in your stomach?” He said, “Yes.” He asked, “So where do they end up afterwards?” The man answered, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He repeated that to him three times, then said, “Their final place is like the end of this world: you step behind your house and hold your nose because of their foul odor.”
