- Muhammad ibn Idris related to me: Amr ibn Aslam narrated to us, from Salm ibn Maymun al-Khawwas, who said: Uthman ibn Zaydah told me, “Sufyan al-Thawri, may Allah have mercy on him, wrote to me: ‘If you wish for a healthy body and shorter hours of sleep, then eat sparingly.’”
١٥٠ - حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ سَلْمِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ الْخَوَّاصِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ زَائِدَةَ، قَالَ: كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، ﵀: «إِنْ أَرَدْتَ أَنْ يَصِحَّ جِسْمُكَ، وَيَقِلَّ نَومُكَ، فَأَقَلَّ مِنَ الْأَكْلِ»
