144 — ʿAwn ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to me, he said: Aḥmad ibn Abī al-Ḥawārī narrated to me, he said: I heard my father say: I heard Wuhayb ibn al-Ward say, “The son of Adam was created, and bread was created alongside him; whatever exceeds plain bread is nothing but a craving.” I relayed this to Sulaymān ibn Abī Sulaymān, who replied, “He has spoken the truth—bread with even a little salt is already a craving.”
