133 – Muḥammad narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Sulaymān narrated to me; he said: I heard ʿĪsā b. Zādhān, in a voice heavy with sorrow, recite:
“Keep to the provision and discipline of the devoted—
Eat little, for you are labouring for Allah.
Heal the heart’s integrity one day with a tremor of dread,
And hurry, for the reckoning must come quickly.”
He added: ʿĪsā was one of those who lived on the barest necessities.
