114 – Al-Hasan b. Mahbūb narrated to us. He said: Al-Fayḍ narrated to us. He said: Hudhayfa said, “I asked a man, ‘Do you allow your nafs—your very self—to have its cravings?’ He replied, ‘There is no soul on earth I loathe more than my own, so how could I possibly grant it its desires?’”
