Al-Ju'Ibn Abi al-Dunya

15 – More than one narrator told me, from Abū al-Walīd al-Tayālisī, who said: ʿUthmān ibn ʿUmārah—Abū Hāshim, the saffron merchant—reported to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated that Anas ibn Mālik informed him:

Fāṭima, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, once brought a small piece of bread to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He asked, “What is this morsel, Fāṭima?” She replied, “It is a loaf I baked, and I could not rest until I brought you this piece.” He said, “Indeed, this is the first food that has entered your father’s stomach in three days.”
