95 – Muhammad said: Qadim al-Daylami narrated to me; he said: I heard Abu Safwan the Worshipper say: “It used to be said: Hunger bequeaths its devotees a God-given sight by which they gaze, with Allah’s light, upon the highest stations of honour among His creation.

It was also said: The wellsprings of honour lie in self-sufficiency; reliance upon Allah is sufficiency itself; entrusting one’s affairs to Him is ease; worship is prompted by that very vision; and nothing a man relinquishes harms him less than a meal he leaves for Allah’s sake—indeed, its final outcome for the God-fearing is beautiful.”
