13 – ʿAli ibn al-Jaʿd narrated to us; he said: Abu Ghassan narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Ḥazim, from his father, from Yazid ibn Ruman, from ʿUrwah, from ʿAʾishah—may Allah be pleased with her—who said:
“Two successive new moons would pass and no fire was lit in any of the houses of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.”
ʿUrwah added: I asked my aunt, “What did you live on during that time?” She replied, “On the two black things: water and dates.”
