Moreover:
It is well known that the noblest issues for Muslims and the most important objectives of religion should receive greater mention than anything else in Allah’s Book, and that the Messenger’s explanation of them should take precedence over his explanation of anything else. Yet the Quran is replete with mention of Allah’s oneness, His names, attributes, signs, angels, Books, messengers, the Last Day, narratives, commands, prohibitions, prescribed limits, and obligatory duties—but not the Imamate. How, then, could the Quran be replete with matters other than the most important and noblest one?
Moreover:
Allah Most High has made happiness contingent upon something in which the Imamate is not mentioned. He said:
[{“Whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger will be with those whom Allah has blessed: the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs, and the righteous. What excellent companions they are!”}
[Surah al-Nisā: 69]
And He said](1):
{“These are the limits set by Allah. Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, He will admit them into Gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever. That is the great triumph. But whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits, He will admit them into a Fire, abiding therein forever, and they will have a humiliating punishment.”}
[Surah al-Nisā: 13 - 14]
Thus, Allah has made clear in the Quran that whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger will attain happiness in the Hereafter, while whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits will be punished. This(2) is the distinction between the blessed and the wretched, yet He did not mention the Imamate.
If someone were to say:
“The Imamate is included in obedience to Allah and His Messenger,”
it would be said:
At most(3), it is like one of the obligatory duties, such as prayer, almsgiving, and fasting,
