and some of them knowing, as in His words:

{And they gave him good news of a knowledgeable son}

[Surah al-Dhāriyāt: 28] (1),

and some of them forbearing, as in His words:

{So We gave him good news of a forbearing son}

[Surah al-Sāffāt: 101],

and some of them compassionate and merciful, as in His words:

{To the believers he is compassionate and merciful}

[Surah al-Tawbah: 128],

and some of them hearing and seeing (as in His words:

{So We made him hearing and seeing}

[Surah al-Insān: 2]) (2),

and some of them mighty, as in His words:

{The wife of the mighty dignitary said}

[Surah Yūsuf: 51],

and some of them kings, as in His words:

{Beyond them was a king who seized every ship by force}

[Surah al-Kahf: 79],

and some of them believers, as in His words:

{Can one who is a believer}

[Surah al-Sajdah: 18],

and some of them tyrannical and arrogant, as in His words:

{Thus does Allah seal the heart of every arrogant tyrant}

[Surah Ghāfir: 35].

It is well known that the Living does not resemble the living, the Knowing does not resemble the knowing, the Almighty does not resemble the mighty, the Compassionate does not resemble the compassionate, the Merciful does not resemble the merciful, the Sovereign does not resemble the king, the Compeller does not resemble the tyrant, and the Supremely Great does not resemble the arrogant.

He also said:

{They encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He wills}

[Surah al-Baqarah: 255].

And He said:

{He sent it down with His knowledge}

[Surah al-Nisā: 166].

And He said:

{No female conceives or gives birth except with His knowledge}

[Surah Fātir: 11].

And He said:

{Indeed, Allah is the Provider, the Possessor of Power, the Strong}

[Surah al-Dhāriyāt: 58].

And He said:

{Did they not realize that Allah, Who created them, is far stronger than they are?}

[Surah Fussilat: 15].

In the two Sahih collections, Jābir ibn Abd Allah said:
