They agree with Ahl al-Sunnah (* (1) that Allah exists and is Living, Knowing, and Powerful, while a created being may also be described as [existent] (2), living, knowing, and powerful. It is not said that this constitutes a likeness (3) that must be denied.
[This is established by the Quran, the Sunnah (4), and plain reason; no rational person could disagree with it. Allah Most High has given Himself names and has given some of His servants names. Likewise, He has given names to His attributes and has applied some of those names to the attributes of His creation; yet one bearer of a name is not like another. Thus, He has named Himself Living, Knowing, Powerful, Compassionate, Merciful, Almighty, Wise, All-Hearing, All-Seeing, Sovereign, Giver of Security, Compeller, and Supremely Great, as in His words:
{Allah—there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining}
[Surah al-Baqarah: 255];
and His words:
{Indeed, He is Knowing and Powerful}
[Surah al-Shūrā: 50].
He also said:
{But He will call you to account for what your hearts have earned. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Forbearing}
[Surah al-Baqarah: 225].
And He said:
{And Allah is Almighty, All-Wise}
[Surah al-Baqarah: 228, 240].
And He said:
{Indeed, Allah is Most Compassionate and Merciful to mankind}
[Surah al-Hajj: 65].
And He said:
{Indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing}
[Surah al-Nisāʾ: 58].
And He said:
{He is Allah—there is no deity except Him—the Sovereign, the Most Holy, the Source of Peace, the Giver of Security, the Overseer, the Almighty, the Compeller, the Supremely Great}
[Surah al-Hashr: 23].
He has also called some of His servants living, saying:
{He brings forth the living from the dead and brings forth the dead from the living}
[Surah al-Rūm: 19].
