[Surah al-Anfāl: 72–75],
and He says:
“Those among you who spent and fought before the Victory are not equal to those who did so afterward. They are greater in rank than those who spent and fought afterward, though Allah has promised the best reward to all.”
[Surah al-Hadīd: 10]
And He Most High says:
“It is for the poor Emigrants who were driven from their homes and possessions, seeking bounty from Allah and His pleasure and supporting Allah and His Messenger. It is they who are truthful. And those who had made the Home their abode and embraced faith before them love those who emigrated to them and feel no desire in their hearts for what they were given. They give them preference over themselves, even though they themselves are in need. Whoever is protected from the selfishness of his own soul—it is they who are successful. And those who came after them say, ‘Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith, and place no rancor in our hearts toward those who believe. Our Lord, You are truly Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.’”
[Surah al-Hashr: 8–10]
These verses praise the Emigrants and the Helpers, as well as those who came after them, who seek forgiveness for them and ask Allah not to place any rancor toward them in their hearts. They also establish that these categories are the ones entitled to property acquired without battle.
There is no doubt that [these] (1) Rāfidah fall outside the three categories, for they have not sought forgiveness for the first and foremost (2), and their hearts harbor rancor against them. Thus, these verses (3) praise the Companions and Ahl al-Sunnah, who remain loyal to them, while excluding the Rāfidah from that praise. This is the very opposite (4) of the doctrine of the Rāfidah.
