“Do not drive away those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face. You are not accountable for them in any way, nor are they accountable for you in any way,”

up to His words:

“Does Allah not know best those who are grateful?” [Surah al-An‘ām: 52, 53].

And His words:

“Keep yourself patiently with those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face. Do not let your eyes turn away from them, desiring the adornment of worldly life. And do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance, who follows his own desires, and whose conduct has gone awry.” [Surah al-Kahf: 28].

He said concerning the downtrodden believers:

“Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. Whenever they passed by them, they would wink at one another. When they returned to their families, they returned merry. When they saw them, they said, ‘These people are certainly astray.’ Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. So today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, looking on from couches,”

to the end of the surah [Surah al-Mutaffifīn: 29–34].

He said:

“The life of this world has been made appealing to those who disbelieve, and they mock those who believe. But those who fear Allah will be above them on the Day of Resurrection. And Allah provides for whomever He wills without measure.” [Surah al-Baqarah: 212].

He said:

“The people of the Heights will call out to men whom they recognize by their marks, saying, ‘What you amassed and your arrogance have availed you nothing.’” Are these “the ones whom you swore Allah would never grant mercy? Enter Paradise; you shall have no fear, nor shall you grieve.” [Surah al-A‘rāf: 48, 49].

He said:

“They will say, ‘Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the wicked? Did we take them as objects of ridicule, or have our eyes failed to see them?’” [Surah Sād: 62, 63].

He said concerning Noah’s people:

“They said, ‘Should we believe you when the lowliest people follow you?’” [Surah al-Shu‘arā’: 111].

{وَلَا تَطْرُدِ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُ مَا عَلَيْكَ مِنْ حِسَابِهِمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ وَمَا مِنْ حِسَابِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: {أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِالشَّاكِرِينَ} [سُورَةُ الْأَنْعَامِ: ٥٢، ٥٣] . وَقَوْلَهُ: {وَاصْبِرْ نَفْسَكَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُ وَلَا تَعْدُ عَيْنَاكَ عَنْهُمْ تُرِيدُ زِينَةَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَلَا تُطِعْ مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُ عَنْ ذِكْرِنَا وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ وَكَانَ أَمْرُهُ فُرُطًا} [سُورَةُ الْكَهْفِ: ٢٨] . وَقَالَ فِي الْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ: {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ - وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ - وَإِذَا انْقَلَبُوا إِلَى أَهْلِهِمُ انْقَلَبُوا فَكِهِينَ - وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ لَضَالُّونَ - وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ - فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ - عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنْظُرُونَ} إِلَى آخَرِ السُّورَةِ [سُورَةُ الْمُطَفِّفِينَ: ٢٩ - ٣٤] . وَقَالَ: {زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَيَسْخَرُونَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَالَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَاللَّهُ يَرْزُقُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ} [سُورَةُ الْبَقَرَةِ: ٢١٢] . وَقَالَ: {وَنَادَى أَصْحَابُ الْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالًا يَعْرِفُونَهُمْ بِسِيمَاهُمْ قَالُوا مَا أَغْنَى عَنْكُمْ جَمْعُكُمْ وَمَا كُنْتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ} أَهَؤُلَاءِ {الَّذِينَ أَقْسَمْتُمْ لَا يَنَالُهُمُ اللَّهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ ادْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَا أَنْتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ} [سُورَةُ الْأَعْرَافِ: ٤٨، ٤٩] . وَقَالَ: {وَقَالُوا مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَى رِجَالًا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُمْ مِنَ الْأَشْرَارِ - أَتَّخَذْنَاهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا أَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ الْأَبْصَارُ} [سُورَةُ ص: ٦٢، ٦٣] . وَقَالَ عَنْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ: {قَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَاتَّبَعَكَ الْأَرْذَلُونَ} [سُورَةُ الشُّعَرَاءِ: ١١١] .
