And in numerous verses, the Quran commends and praises the Companions for their faith and deeds, as in His words:
“The first forerunners among the Emigrants and the Helpers, and those who followed them in righteousness—Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him.” [Surah al-Tawbah: 100]
And His words:
“Those of you who spent and fought before the conquest are not equal to those who did so afterward. They are higher in rank than those who spent and fought afterward. Yet Allah has promised all of them the finest reward.” [Surah al-Hadīd: 10]
And His words:
“Allah was certainly pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you under the tree. He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquillity upon them and rewarded them with a conquest near at hand.” [Surah al-Fath: 18]
And His words:
“It is He who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the believers so that their faith would increase.” [Surah al-Fath: 4]
And His words:
“For the poor Emigrants who were driven from their homes and possessions, seeking Allah’s bounty and pleasure and supporting Allah and His Messenger—those are the truthful. And those who had settled in the city and embraced the faith before them love those who emigrated to them. They feel no resentment in their hearts over what the Emigrants were given, and prefer them to themselves, even when they are in need.” [Surah al-Hashr: 8 - 9]
And His words:
“Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him…” [Surah al-Fath: 29], and the rest of the verse.
Likewise, the Quran praises the believers of this community, from its earliest generations to its latest: the God-fearing, those who do good, those who act justly, the righteous, and others of this kind.
As for lineage, the Quran establishes a right for near relatives, as they are mentioned in
