He said (1): “Concerning Banū al-Nadīr, Allah Most High revealed Surah (2) \ 8 al-Hashr in its entirety. In it, He mentions the punishment that befell them (3), how He empowered His Messenger against them (4), and what His Messenger did to them (5).”
In the two Sahīh collections, Ibn Umar narrated: “The Jews of Banū al-Nadīr and [Banū] Qurayza (6) fought the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He expelled Banū al-Nadīr, but allowed Qurayza to remain and spared them. Later, when Qurayza fought, he killed their men, took their women and children captive, seized their property, and distributed their spoils among the Muslims. Some of them, however, joined the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—so he granted them safety, and they embraced Islam. The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—expelled all the Jews of Medina: Banū Qaynuqā, the people of Abd Allah ibn Salām; the Jews of Banū Hāritha; and every Jew who was in Medina.” (7).
