Ibn Khālawayh also related from Hudhayfa, who said:

“The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) * (1) said: ‘Whoever wishes to hold fast to the ruby reed that Allah created with His hand (2), then said to it, “Be,” and it was, should take Alī ibn Abī Tālib as his ally after me.’”

He also related from Abū Saīd, who said:

“The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Alī: ‘Love of you is faith, and hatred of you is hypocrisy.
