[Chapter: The Thirty-Second Proof—“On the Day When Allah Will Not Disgrace the Prophet and Those Who Believed with Him”—and the Response to It]
Chapter
The Rāfidī (1) said:
“The thirty-second proof is the words of Allah Most High:
‘On the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believed with him.’
[Surah al-Tahrīm: 8]
Abū Nuaym narrated (2), tracing it back to Ibn Abbās, who said: ‘The first to be clothed (3) in the robes of Paradise will be Abraham—peace be upon him—on account of his intimate friendship with Allah (4), and Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—because he is Allah’s chosen one. Then Alī will be escorted in procession between them into the Gardens of Paradise.’
Ibn Abbās then recited:
‘On the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believed with him.’
He said: ‘Alī and his companions.’ This indicates that he is superior to others and therefore is the Imam.”
The response may be given from several angles:
First: Its transmission must be proven authentic (5), especially in the case of something such as this, which has no basis.
