Minhaj as-SunnahIbn Taimiya

And He said:

“There has certainly come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book, by which Allah guides those who seek His pleasure to the ways of peace, brings them out of darkness into light by His permission, and guides them to a straight path.”

[Surah al-Māidah: 15–16]

And He said:

“This is a clear exposition for mankind, and guidance and admonition for the God-fearing.”

[Surah Āl Imrān: 138]

And He said:

“This is the Book in which there is no doubt, a guidance for the God-fearing.”

[Surah al-Baqarah: 2]

Likewise, even if a person were to go hungry, keep vigil, withdraw into seclusion, remain silent, and do whatever else he might conceivably do, he would not be rightly guided unless he worshipped Allah through the acts of worship prescribed by the Sacred Law and received knowledge of the unseen through the Messenger.

Allah Most High said to the best of creation—who, even before revelation, possessed the purest soul and the most perfect intellect:

“Thus We revealed to you a spirit by Our command. You did not know what the Book was, nor faith, but We made it a light by which We guide whomever We will of Our servants.”

[Surah al-Shūrā: 52]

And He said:

“Say, ‘If I stray, I stray only to my own detriment; and if I am guided, it is through what my Lord reveals to me. Indeed, He is All-Hearing and near.’”

[Surah Saba: 50]

And He said:

“Whenever guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray nor fall into misery. But whoever turns away from My remembrance will have a life of hardship, and We shall raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection. He will say, ‘My Lord, why have You raised me blind when I used to have sight?’ He will say, ‘Thus did Our signs come to you, but you disregarded them; and so today you will be disregarded.’”

[Surah Tā Hā: 123–126]

And Allah Most High said:

“Whoever turns away from the remembrance of the Most Merciful, We appoint for him a devil who becomes his constant companion.”
