You have therefore contradicted the Book, the Sunnah, and consensus by asserting that Allah loves and is pleased with every instance of disbelief, [wickedness](1), and disobedience that occurs.
The compulsionist Qadariyya among the Jahmiyya and others said:
“You assert that Allah did not single out the believers for any blessing by which they were guided. Rather, His blessing upon the disbelievers and the believers with respect to faith is the same. This contradicts the Sacred Law [and reason](2), for Allah Most High says:
‘But Allah has endeared faith to you and beautified it in your hearts, and He has made disbelief, wickedness, and disobedience hateful to you. It is they who are rightly guided.’
[Surah al-Hujurāt: 7]
He Most High also says:
‘They regard their acceptance of Islam as a favor to you. Say, “Do not regard your Islam as a favor to me. Rather, Allah has conferred favor upon you by guiding you to faith, if you are truthful.”’
[Surah al-Hujurāt: 17]
He Most High also says:
‘Thus We have tested some of them by means of others, so that they might say, “Are these the ones whom Allah has favored from among us?”’
[Surah al-Anʿām: 53]
And He says:
‘Were it not for Allah’s grace and mercy upon you, not one of you would ever have become purified.’
[Surah al-Nūr: 21]
He Most High also says:
‘Know that Allah comes between a person and his heart.’
[Surah al-Anfāl: 24]
The Close Friend—peace be upon him—said:
‘Our Lord, make us both submissive to You, and from our descendants a community submissive to You.’
[Surah al-Baqara: 128]
He also said:
‘Keep me and my sons from worshipping idols. My Lord, they have indeed led many people astray.’
[Surah Ibrāhīm: 35–36]
And Allah Most High says:
‘For whoever among you wills to follow the straight path; yet you cannot will unless Allah, Lord of the worlds, wills.’
[Surah al-Takwīr: 28–29]”
