The Murji’ah say:
“His words, Most High,
‘Allah accepts only from the righteous.’
[Surah al-Mā’idah: 27]
refer to those who guard themselves against shirk (associating partners with Allah).”
They also say, “Deeds are nullified only by disbelief.” Allah Most High says:
“If you associate partners with Allah, your deeds will surely be rendered void.”
[Surah al-Zumar 65]
And He says:
“Whoever rejects faith, all their deeds will be void.”
[Surah al-Mā’idah: 5]
They also say, “Allah Most High has said:
‘Then We entrusted the Book to those of Our servants whom We chose. Some of them wrong themselves, some follow a middle course, and some, by Allah’s permission, are foremost in good deeds. That is truly the greatest bounty—the Gardens of Eternity, which they will enter.’
[Surah Fātir 32–33]”
Thus, He has stated that all three groups will enter Paradise. It has also been related from some of the extremist Murji’ah that no adherent of monotheism will enter the Fire. However, I do not know of any particular person who held this view such that I could attribute it to him. Some people attribute it (1) to Muqātil ibn Sulaymān, but it appears that this attribution to him is mistaken.
