and Majestic—for as long as Noah remained among his people (1), possessed gold equal to Mount Uhud and spent it in the cause of Allah, and had his life prolonged until he performed Hajj on foot for a thousand years (2), then was wrongfully killed between al-Safā and al-Marwa, yet did not regard you as an ally, O Alī, he would neither smell the fragrance of Paradise nor enter it.”

A man said to Salmān, “How intense your love for Alī is!”

He replied, “I heard the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—say: ‘Whoever loves Alī has loved me, and whoever hates Alī has hated me.’”

Anas (3) reported that the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said: “From the light of Alī’s face (4), Allah created seventy thousand angels who seek forgiveness for him and those who love him (5) until the Day of Resurrection.”

Ibn Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said: “Whoever loves Alī, Allah will accept from him (6) his prayer, fasting, and night vigil, and will answer his supplication (7). Behold, whoever loves Alī, Allah will grant him, for every vein in his body (8), a city in Paradise. Behold, whoever loves the family of Muhammad will be safe from the Reckoning, the Scale, and the Bridge. Behold, whoever dies loving the family of Muhammad, I guarantee him Paradise (9) in the company of the prophets. And behold (10), whoever hates the family of Muhammad will come on the Day of Resurrection
