Say, ‘Produce your proof, if you are truthful.’ Rather, whoever submits himself wholly to Allah and does good will have his reward with his Lord. No fear will be upon them, nor will they grieve.”
It is well known that the awaited one (1) whose existence the Rāfidī alleges is not someone whom anyone is obliged to obey, for no statement transmitted from him is known. Therefore, whoever obeys the Messenger—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—will enter Paradise, even if he does not believe in this Imām; whereas whoever believes in this Imām will not enter Paradise unless he obeys the Messenger—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—(2). Thus, obedience to the Messenger (3) is the determining factor in whether felicity is attained or lost, and it distinguishes the people of Paradise from the people of the Fire (4).
[Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—] (5) made this distinction among mankind. Allah, Glorified and Exalted, has shown mankind the way to obey him (6) through what He has made clear to them. It is therefore evident (7) that Ahl al-Sunnah are certain of felicity and salvation for those who belong to Ahl al-Sunnah.
Praise be to Allah, the third volume of Ibn Taymiyyah’s book Minhāj al-Sunnah fī Naqd Kalām al-Shīah al-Qadariyyah has been completed. It will be followed—Allah willing—by the fourth volume, which begins:
Chapter: The Rāfidī said: “The Fourth Aspect: The Imāmiyyah derived their doctrine from the infallible Imāms…” and so forth.
