the rulings of the Sharia are found in no group in greater numbers than among the Rāfidah. They introduced into Allah’s religion lies against the Messenger of Allah (1)—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—such as no others had fabricated; they rejected truths such as no others had rejected; and they distorted the Quran (2) as no others had distorted it. One example is their claim that the saying of Allah Most High (3):
“Your only ally is Allah, His Messenger, and those who believe—those who establish prayer, give zakat, and bow down.”
[Surah al-Mā’idah: 55] (4)
was revealed concerning Alī when he gave his ring in charity during the prayer.
They likewise interpret His saying, Most High:
“He released the two seas”
[Surah al-Rahmān: 19]
as Alī and Fātimah;
“From both of them emerge pearl and coral”
[Surah al-Rahmān: 22]
as al-Hasan and al-Husayn; and
“We have enumerated everything in a clear register”
[Surah Yā Sīn: 12]
as Alī ibn Abī Tālib (5).
“Indeed, Allah chose Adam, Noah, the family of Abraham, and the family of Imrān”
[Surah Āl Imrān: 33] (6)
They (7) are the family of Abū Tālib (8), and Abū Tālib’s name was Imrān.
“So fight the leaders of unbelief”
[Surah al-Tawbah: 12]
means Talhah and al-Zubayr; and
“and the accursed tree in the Quran”
[Surah al-Isrā: 60]:
