In the Sahih (1) of Muslim, Umm al-Husayn related that she “heard the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—at Minā or Arafat during the Farewell Pilgrimage say:
‘If a mutilated black slave (2) is appointed to govern you and leads you according to Allah’s Book, then hear and obey.’” (3)
Al-Bukhārī related from Anas ibn Mālik (4), who said: The Messenger—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said:
“Hear and obey, even if an Abyssinian slave whose head resembles a raisin is appointed to govern you.” (5)
It is related in the two Sahih collections that Ibn Umar said: The Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said:
“This authority shall remain among Quraysh so long as two people remain.” (6)

مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أُمِّ الْحُصَيْنِ: أَنَّهَا «سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -
بِمِنًى أَوْ بِعَرَفَاتٍ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ يَقُولُ:
" لَوِ اسْتُعْمِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَبْدٌ أَسْوَدُ

مُجَدَّعٌ يَقُودُكُمْ بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ فَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا» "

وَرَوَى الْبُخَارِيُّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -:
"
«اسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا وَإِنِ اسْتُعْمِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَبْدٌ حَبَشِيٌّ كَأَنَّ رَأْسَهُ زَبِيبَةٌ»

وَفِي الصَّحِيحَيْنِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ:
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -:

«لَا يَزَالُ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ النَّاسِ اثْنَانِ»
