Chapter 17: The Duty to Submit to the Judgment of Allah Most High, and the Words One Should Utter When Summoned to It or When Enjoining Right and Forbidding Wrong
Allah the Exalted says: “But no—by your Lord! They will not truly believe until they make you judge in all that arises between them, then find within themselves no discomfort concerning what you have decided, and submit in full submission” (al-Nisāʾ 4:65).
He, Exalted be He, also says: “The only statement of the believers, when they are called to Allah and His Messenger so that he may judge between them, is to say, ‘We hear and we obey.’ Such people are the successful” (al-Nūr 24:51).
Among the traditions relevant to this chapter is the report of Abū Hurayrah mentioned at the beginning of the preceding chapter, together with other narrations on the subject.
168 – Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the verse was revealed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, “To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth; and whether you disclose what is within yourselves or conceal it, Allah will call you to account for it …” (al-Baqarah 2:284),
