Naked: they will have no garments whatsoever, their bare skin fully exposed.
Uncircumcised: that is, uncircumcised.
Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin that covers the glans; it is removed so that purification may be complete, as we shall explain, God willing.
Buhman: the scholars explain that buhman means that they will possess no wealth at all—each person stripped of everything. They cite as proof the Almighty’s words: “As We originated the first creation, so shall We bring it back—a promise binding upon Us; indeed We shall fulfill it” (21:104). In other words, Allah will resurrect them exactly as He created them the first time: they will rise from the earth’s belly as they once emerged from their mothers’ wombs—barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised: “As We originated the first creation, so shall We bring it back.” He then says, “a promise binding upon Us,” stressing the certainty of the matter, for this situation calls for emphasis. Some people have denied the Resurrection—may Allah protect us—and have said, “There is nothing but our worldly life; we die and we live, and we shall not be raised again” (23:37). Therefore the Almighty declared, “a promise binding upon Us; indeed We shall certainly do it.”
When the Prophet ﷺ narrated this hadith, ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her) exclaimed, “What a distressing thought! Will men and women look at one another?” The Prophet ﷺ answered, “O ʿĀʾishah, the matter will be far too grave for that to concern them.” The Day will be momentous; no one will glance at anyone else: “The Day a man will flee from his brother, his mother and his father, his wife and his sons—each person…” (80:34-37).
