Sharḥ Riyāḍ al-ṢāliḥīnIbn al-'Uthaymin

one sin.

Third: awaiting the next prayer after finishing the current one. Because of his intense longing for the prayers, whenever a person completes one prayer his heart clings to the next, eagerly expecting it. This attachment is proof of his faith, his love, and his yearning for these magnificent prayers about which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The delight of my eyes has been placed in the prayer.” Whoever waits from one prayer to the next, Allah raises his ranks and wipes out his sins.

The Prophet’s words ﷺ, “That is the ribāṭ,” refer to the original sense of ribāṭ: remaining stationed for battle against the enemy, keeping the horses tethered and ready—one of the noblest deeds. For that reason he compared the continual upkeep of purity, the regular performance of prayer, and steadfast worship mentioned in this ḥadith to striving in the path of Allah.
