Paradise. May Allah make us and you among those people.
His words, “and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah,” mean that you testify that Muhammad, son of ʿAbd-Allah, the Hāshimite, the Qurashī, the Arab, is the Messenger of Allah. No other messenger is mentioned because everything the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, brought abrogated the religions that came before him.
With his mission, therefore, every other religion became null and void: the religion of the Jews is invalid, and the religion of the Christians is invalid and unacceptable to Allah. The Exalted says, “Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he shall be among the losers” (Āl ʿImrān 3:85).
They exhaust themselves in the acts of worship they have invented, striving mightily, yet all of it is futile and brings them no benefit; it will never be accepted from them. Concerning the words, “and in the Hereafter he shall be among the losers,” even if they profit in this world, they will gain nothing in the Hereafter, because their religions are false. Those today who claim—while professing Christianity—that they belong to Jesus son of Mary, upon him be peace, are lying; the Messiah disowns them. Were the Messiah to appear, he would fight them. He will indeed descend at the end of time and will accept nothing but Islam: he will break the cross, slaughter the swine, and abolish the jizyah, refusing to take it from anyone. He will accept nothing but Islam.
His words, “and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah,” also mean: a messenger to all of creation, as Allah says:
