150 – Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Among the communities before you there were people who were granted inspired utterance (muhaddathūn); if there is anyone of my nation who enjoys that gift, it is ʿUmar.”
Al-Bukhārī narrated it, and Muslim likewise through the report of ʿĀʾishah. In both of their versions he said:
١٥٠ - وعن أبي هريرة ﵁ قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: لقد كان فيما قبلكم من الأمم ناس محدثون، فإن يك في أمتي أحد، فإنه عمر.
