—you are a martyr; and if you kill him, he is destined for the Fire.

For this reason the scholars have said: repelling an assailant is permissible even when it results in his death, because once he attacks you he forfeits his inviolability. Yet if he can be restrained by something short of killing, then do not kill him.

We ask Allah, exalted is He, to protect us and you from all trials, both manifest and concealed.
