Sharḥ Riyāḍ al-ṢāliḥīnIbn al-'Uthaymin
  1. Another point is that one should invoke this supplication: “Allāhumma munzil al-kitāb, mujriya al-saḥāb, wā hāzima al-aḥzāb, ihzimhum wanṣurnā ʿalayhim” (O Allah, Revealer of the Book, Dispatcher of the clouds, Conqueror of the confederates, defeat them and grant us victory over them).

  2. It is likewise permissible—and even recommended—to pray for the enemies’ defeat, for they are your enemies and the enemies of Allah. A disbeliever is not your foe alone; he is an enemy to you, to your Lord, to His prophets, to His angels, to His messengers, and to every believer. In truth, the unbeliever is the enemy of every believer, every messenger, every prophet, and every angel. Hence you should consistently beseech Allah to frustrate the disbelievers, to rout them, and to grant us triumph over them. Allah alone grants success.
