Sharḥ Riyāḍ al-ṢāliḥīnIbn al-'Uthaymin

—a decree irrevocably fulfilled. Then We shall rescue those who were mindful of Allah and leave the wrongdoers there, kneeling. (Qur’an 19:71–72)

In the narration of Abu Saʿīd al-Khudrī concerning the women who had gathered, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them, taught them from what Allah had taught him, and told them: “No woman whose three children die before reaching the age of responsibility will be touched by the Fire—except for the fulfillment of the oath.” One of the women asked, “And if two?” He replied, “Even two.”

Accordingly, it is also by Allah’s grace that if a person loses two children—sons or daughters—and then remains patient, seeking the reward, those children will be a shield for him against the Fire. And Allah is the One who grants success.
