Sharḥ Riyāḍ al-ṢāliḥīnIbn al-'Uthaymin

That alone constitutes the Sunnah; after that the people should leave. As for reciting the Qur’an at the grave, the sounder view is that it is discouraged. It is therefore reprehensible for a person to go to the grave, stand by it or sit there, and recite, for this is an innovation. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Every innovation is misguidance,” and at the very least such a practice is objectionable. Allah alone grants success.
