If, at the moment of death, a Muslim brother prompts the dying person to say, “There is no deity worthy of worship but Allah,” that single statement is worth the whole world and all it contains. So whenever you are present with someone in the throes of death, be keen to prompt him with “There is no deity worthy of worship but Allah,” obeying the Prophet’s command ﷺ and showing kindness to that person. Perhaps Allah, in turn, will prompt you at your own final hour, for the Prophet ﷺ said, “Allah is in the servant’s aid so long as the servant is in his brother’s aid.” May Allah conclude our lives and yours with this testimony.
