Chapter: The recommendation to advise the relatives of a sick person and those who serve him to treat him kindly, bear with him, and remain patient with the hardship that may come from him; likewise, to counsel regarding a person whose death is imminent because of a prescribed punishment, retaliation, or the like.
913 – ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a woman from the tribe of Juhaynah came to the Prophet ﷺ while she was pregnant from fornication. She said, “Messenger of Allah, I have incurred a prescribed punishment; so carry it out on me.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ summoned her guardian and said, “Treat her well, and when she has given birth, bring her to me.” He did so. The Prophet ﷺ then ordered that her garments be fastened around her, and he commanded that she be stoned. After she was stoned, he performed the funeral prayer for her. Narrated by Muslim.
