—whether a relative or someone else—so that the person may be reassured. Nowadays, praise be to Allah, we have the telephone: if someone is unable to go to the patient in person, the phone can enter homes without even needing permission. Therefore we say: if you cannot visit the sick yourself, call him, ask about his condition, and the reward will still be recorded for you, in shāʾ Allāh. Allah alone grants success.
