Sharḥ Riyāḍ al-ṢāliḥīnIbn al-'Uthaymin

the consummate perfection of the Sharia, in that it places the beginner and the veteran on an equal footing in such matters. The Sharia, as we all know, is from the One who is All-Wise, All-Aware, as the Most High says: “A Book whose verses have been perfected and then set out in detail, from the One who is All-Wise, All-Aware.” Thus you will find its teachings entirely harmonious and mutually supportive, containing neither contradiction nor negligence.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) even forbade a man to walk in a single sandal, even if it is only while repairing the other. Why? Because when you favor one foot with a sandal and deprive the other, that is partiality and a breach of justice. In this way we see that Islamic law establishes justice in every matter: “Indeed, Allah commands justice, excellence, and giving to close relatives; and He forbids indecency, wrongdoing, and oppression. He admonishes you so that you may take heed.” Allah alone grants success.
