need or any genuine excuse; rather, it is Satan who discourages him so that he forfeits this immense reward. Therefore, the moment the sun rises, hasten to bathe, cleanse yourself, put on your finest clothes, apply perfume, make your way to the mosque, pray whatever Allah enables you, and recite the Qur’an until the imam arrives.

Another etiquette of Friday is that one must not separate two people. In other words, do not insert yourself between two individuals and crowd them. If there is a clear gap, entering it is not regarded as separation, for the two of them created that space. But if you find two sitting closely together with no room for a third and you force yourself between them, this is an act of annoyance. The Prophet ﷺ once noticed a man stepping over people’s shoulders on a Friday while he ﷺ was delivering the sermon and said to him, “Sit down, for you have harmed (the worshippers).” All of this forms part of the manners of attending the Friday prayer.
