is responsible for such matters. By reporting the obstacle he will be counted among those who cooperate in righteousness and piety.
Modesty is a branch of faith. When a person is modest, he neither speaks in a way that soils his reputation among people nor behaves in a manner that disgraces him. Rather, you find him dignified, calm, and at ease; this is one of the signs of faith. Allah alone grants success.
684 – Abu Saʿid al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was more modest than a virgin in her private chamber. Whenever he saw something he disliked, we could recognize it on his face.” Agreed upon.
[Explanation]
Al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) then cites, in the Chapter on Modesty and its Virtue, the report transmitted from Abu Saʿid al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was more modest than a virgin in her seclusion.
