The False Messiah is a human being from the descendants of Adam, yet he is one-eyed, vile, unbelieving, and defiant. Between his eyes the word “disbeliever” is written. A believer will read it, whereas a sinful person will not; no disbeliever can read it—even if he is literate—while every believer, even if unable to read, will decipher it. That, in itself, is a sign from Allah.
This Dajjal will summon people to worship him, declaring, “I am your Lord.” If they obey him he will admit them to what he calls “Paradise,” and if they refuse he will cast them into what he calls “Hell.” But what are his Paradise and his Hell? His “Paradise” is in truth fire, and his “Hell” is actually Paradise. He deceives people into thinking that those who obey him are entering a garden, when it is fire, and that those who disobey him are being thrown into fire, when that “fire” is in fact a garden—cool, sweet water, true bliss. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “He will come with something resembling Paradise and Hell; what he calls Paradise is indeed Hell.”
Yet he beguiles the people, confusing them so that they imagine the obedient have been ushered into paradise and the defiant hurled into hell, while the reality is exactly the opposite.
He will likewise approach a nomadic people stricken by drought: no milk in the udders of their livestock, no vegetation on their land. He will invite them, saying, “I am your Lord.” When they comply, he will command the sky and it will pour rain—he will say to the sky, “Rain!” and it will rain—and he will command the earth and it will bring forth vegetation
