Chapter 51 – Hope
Allah the Exalted says:
“Say, ‘My servants who have transgressed against your own souls, do not despair of Allah’s mercy. Surely Allah forgives all sins; He is indeed the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.’” (39:53)
He also says:
“Do We recompense anyone except the ungrateful?” (34:17)
And He says:
“It has been revealed to us that punishment is for the one who denies and turns away.” (20:48)
And He says:
“My mercy encompasses everything.” (7:156)
1/412 – ʿUbadah ibn as-Sāmit (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Whoever testifies that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah, alone without partner; that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger; that Jesus is the servant of Allah and His Messenger, His word which He conveyed to Mary, and a spirit from Him; and that Paradise is real and the Fire is real—Allah will admit him into Paradise regardless of what deeds he may have done.” Agreed upon.
In another narration recorded by Muslim: “Whoever testifies that there is no deity but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, Allah makes the Fire forbidden for him.”
2/413 – Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: Allah, Blessed and Exalted, says, “Whoever comes with a good deed shall receive ten times its like—or even more; and whoever comes with an evil deed, his recompense will be one evil the like of it.”
