5/364 — Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet — peace and blessings be upon him — said: “A woman is sought in marriage for four qualities: her wealth, her lineage, her beauty, and her religion. So attain the one who possesses religion; may your hands be rubbed with dust!” Agreed upon.
Its meaning is that people customarily look for those four traits in a wife. You, however, should give priority to the woman of faith, win her, and cherish her company.

8/367 — Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet — peace and blessings be upon him — said: “A man follows the religion of his close friend, so each of you should look carefully at whom he befriends.” Recorded by Abū Dāwūd and al-Tirmidhī with an authentic chain; al-Tirmidhī said, “A ḥasan (good) hadith.”
