Likewise, you should ask such people to visit you and come to your home, for their very presence brings blessing.
The author then cites the story of Moses with al-Khidr. Moses said to his servant, “I will not cease until I reach the meeting-point of the two seas, even if I must travel for ages” (18:60). Allah had informed him that there was among His servants a man upon whom He had bestowed mercy and whom He had taught special knowledge. Moses therefore set out in search of that man until he met him. Allah, exalted is He, relates their story in detail in Sūrat al-Kahf; discussion of it will come later, if Allah wills. Allah knows best.
1/360 – Anas ﵁ reported: After the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, Abu Bakr said to ʿUmar ﵄, “Come with me to Umm Ayman ﵂ and let us visit her as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to visit her.” When they reached her, she wept. They said, “Why are you crying? Do you not know that what is with Allah is better for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?” She replied, “I am not crying because I do not know that what is with Allah is better for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); I am crying because revelation has ceased to descend from heaven.” Her words moved them to tears, and they began to weep with her. Muslim narrated it.
2/361 – Abu Hurayrah ﵁ reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “A man set out to visit a brother of his in another village. Allah dispatched an angel to wait for him on his path. When the angel met him he asked, ‘Where are you going?’ He replied, ‘I am going to visit a brother of mine in this village.’ The angel said, ‘Do you have any favour with him that you wish to repay?’ He answered, ‘No. I only love him for Allah’s sake.’ The angel said, ‘I am a messenger from Allah to inform you that Allah loves you…’”
