38 – Chapter: The obligation to command one’s household, discerning-age children, and all those under one’s care to obey Allah the Exalted; to forbid them from disobedience, discipline them, and keep them from whatever He has prohibited.
Allah the Exalted says, “And command your family to perform the prayer and be steadfast in it” (Ta Ha: 132), and He says, “O you who believe, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire” (al-Tahrim: 6).
1/298 – Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that al-Hasan ibn Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) once picked up a date from the charity dates and put it in his mouth. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “kakh kakh! Spit it out. Do you not know that we do not eat from charity?” Agreed upon.
In another wording he said, “Charity is not lawful for us.” The expression “kakh kakh” may be pronounced with a quiescent kha or with a kasrah and nunation; it is a word used to deter a child from something repulsive. Al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) was a small boy at the time.
