showed them such great compassion, Allah made Paradise certain for her.

This clearly proves that treating children gently and mercifully is one of the means to enter Paradise and to be delivered from the Fire. We ask Allah to grant that to us and to you.

The three ḥadiths that follow further indicate that the weak are a source of victory and provision. When a person shows them kindness, sympathizes with them, and gives them something of what Allah has bestowed upon him, that becomes a cause for triumph over enemies and for increased sustenance. Allah, exalted is He, has informed us that whenever someone spends for His sake, He will replace what was spent. He says: “And whatever you spend of anything, He will replace it, and He is the best of providers.” ⦗Sabaʾ: 39⦘ Replace it here means: He will bring something else in its stead.
