Some people will be hurled headlong into Hell and punished in proportion to their deeds.

As for the outright disbelievers, they will neither be raised onto that Bridge nor cross it at all; rather, they will be driven to Hell before they even reach it, sent there in throngs. Only the believers will be allowed to ascend the Bridge. Yet if a believer still bears sins that have not been forgiven, he may fall into Hell and be chastised according to what he has earned.
