906 — Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman informed us; he said: Abd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Baghawi informed us; he said: Sa‘id ibn Yahya al-Umawi related to us; he said: My father related to me; he said: Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Alqamah related to us, from Abu Salamah, from Ibn Abbas, concerning His saying:

“And indeed he saw him at another descent, by the Lote Tree of the utmost boundary.” [Surah al-Najm 53:13–14]

He said: “His Lord drew near to him and descended, until He was at a distance of two bow-lengths or nearer; then He revealed to His servant whatever He revealed.” He said: “The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did indeed see Him.”
