895 — Ahmad informed us; Umar informed us. He said: Muhammad ibn al-Husayn ibn Ziyad narrated to us. He said: Abd Allah ibn Mahmud narrated to us in Marw. He said: Abd al-Karim ibn Abd Allah al-Sukkari narrated to us. He said: Ali ibn al-Madini al-Ghassani narrated to us. He said: I asked Abd Allah ibn al-Mubarak about His saying, Most High: “So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him do righteous deeds.”

Abd Allah said: “Whoever wishes to look upon the face of his Creator should do righteous deeds and tell no one about them.”
