885 — ‘Abd al-Rahman mentioned him under no. 51052. He said: I found in a book belonging to my father, among the material that Hisham had composed in refutation of the Jahmiyyah, that Hisham said: “Among the matters concerning which you asked in your letter was whether the people of Paradise will see their Lord.” Hisham said: “It has been conveyed to us in the exegesis of the Quran and in sound hadith that Allah—exalted is His praise—will be seen in the Hereafter.” He then cited the reports concerning the exegesis of the Quran and the narrations from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
